The family of David R. Dauphinee sadly announce his death on Sunday, July 28th, 2013 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Lunenburg, he was the son of the late Frederick and Viola (Bannister) Dauphinee.

David excelled in hockey, baseball and soccer in his early years. This led into coaching, managing and refereeing for those sports. He was instrumental in introducing Minor Hockey to Lunenburg and he was also heavily involved in fund-raising for the construction of the Lunenburg Swimming Pool.

His career at Highliner culminated in 1992 as Manager of Secondary Processing. He then went on to work at Wm. Gerhardt Property Improvement. His community interest led him into municipal politics. He served for 30 years on the Board at Harbour View Haven. David served three terms as Parish Warden and Parish Council Member for St. John’s Anglican Church. He served as a firefighter and Deputy Chief in the Lunenburg and District Fire Department and was a member for many years of the Lunenburg Festival of Crafts.
