Obituary for Ann Marie Gray Clifford

Ann Marie  Gray   Clifford

Ann Marie Gray Clifford passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at her home in Halifax at the age of 71.

She was the daughter of the late Charles Elliott and Marion (Herman) Gray of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

Educated at Lunenburg Academy and Bridgewater Commercial School, Ann Marie spent her entire career with the Province of Nova Scotia rising to a senior administrative position in the Executive Council Office.

She was a member of Central United Church, Lunenburg and Fort Massey United Church, Halifax.

An avid gardener who enjoyed showing many of her prized roses at the Flower Shows, Ann Marie was a Past President of the Halifax-Westmoor Horticultural Society. She gave much of her time and support to Spencer House, Halifax and St. Mary's School, Morris Street, Halifax.

She is survived by Lee Clifford, Texas, brother-in-law, Jay Clifford (Denise) of Fredericton, New Brunswick, sisters-in-law, Sally Lester and Susan Romain both of Beamsfield, ON.; aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many good friends.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service and Celebration of Ann Marie’s life will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg

Donations in memory of Ann Marie may be made to the SPCA, Bide Awhile Society or the charity of your choice.
