Obituary for Carrie Luemma Young

It is with great sadness that the family of Carrie Luemma Young, 88, of Lunenburg, announces her passing on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.

Born in Front Centre, Lunenburg Co. she was a daughter of the late William and Lois (Cross) Wentzell.

Over the years, Carrie had worked for 17 years with National Sea Products, Lunenburg and was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg. Her love of life, family and friends and the community at large, were so important to her. Carrie’s quiet courage, strength of spirit, sense of humour will be carried forward by those who knew and loved her.

Carrie is survived be her son Eric, Lunenburg; sister, Freda Baugil, Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg; brother, Alvin (Lucille) Wentzell, Rhodes Corner; one niece and six nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Murray; sister, Eva Veinotte; stepsister, Hilda Dober; stepbrothers, Garnet and Russell Wentzell.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg, where family and friends are invited to share their memories of Carrie during visitation on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm. to celebrate Carrie’s life, Rev. Vivian Roberts, officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.

Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg, Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg or a charity of your choice.
