Amero, Lorna Serena

Age 86, of Dayspring, NS, passed away peacefully in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on October 14, 2016. Born in Doucetteville, Digby County, on January 31st, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Olive (Keddy) Amero.

She was lovingly cared for most of her adult life by her older sister, Rena and brother-in-law, Douglas Bell in their home in Petite Riviere until she required specialized care. She then became a resident of Riverview Enhanced Living (formerly Lahave Manor) where she lived and enjoyed being among the other residents and staff who enjoyed seeing her beaming smile.

She is survived by a sister, Helen MacMillan, of Port Hope, Ontario; sisters-in-law, Carole Amero, of Angus, Ontario; Marilyn Amero, of Oshawa, Ontario and Stella Amero of Alberta; nephew, Capt. John Bell, (Catherine) of Petite Riviere; niece, Mary Ann Massey (Clayton) of Crousetown; niece-in-law, Lise Bell, of Bush Island; several great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers, John and Perley of Ontario and Murray of Alberta; infant brothers, Charles and Jesse of Doucetteville; sister Rena; brothers-in-law, Capt. Douglas Bell of Petite Riviere and Arthur MacMillan of Ontario; nephew, Peter Bell of Bush Island.

Special thank you to the staff of Riverview Enhanced Living for taking such good care of Lorna in her golden years and to the doctors and nurses at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg. A graveside committal will take place Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Doucetteville, Digby County.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
