Condolence: We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Joan's death."Willie" as I knew her, was my best friend through all our VGH days. Her family became my second family. Although, we lived far from each other, we remained in frequent touch by phone and with occasional visits. I will certainly miss her. Our deepest sympathy to Mark and Ken and their families. She loved all of you very much and she was so proud of all of you. You brought her so much joy. Shirley and Peter

Condolence: To the family of Joan Williams Eisner, It is with great sadness we read of Joans sudden death.I was a nursing instructor with Willie at the VG School of Nursing from 1974 to 1976. We became friends and attended her wedding to Donald. After her move to Lunenburg we visited at Greenbay each summer . We shared many Saturday mornings over coffee discussing politics, playing crib and catching up on world events while she was living in Halifax . She was a loyal. kind ,optimistic woman who cared deeply for her family. As a teacher she was patient ,kind and always prepared to help students be successful. As a volunteer no one worked harder for her chosen causes .As agolfer she played the game to win and always had fun. The funeral service was a wonderful tribute to Joan and her life well lived. Our sincerest sympathy to her many friends ,colleagues and family. Sheila and John Ross Halifax NS

Condolence: To Joan's family members and friends, I was sad to learn of Joan's passing, yet grateful for her life and the positive impact she had on so many. Joan was one of my nursing instructors at the VGH (1964 - 67). I loved her practical good sense and her endearing sense of humor. I appreciated her consistent encouragement. She had a direct influence on my later career choices and I was glad to have an opportunity to tell her so after we reconnected many years later. My condolences. May you be comforted and peaceful.

Condolence: It is with great sadness that we hear of Joan's sudden death. She conducted her last Auxiliary meeting not a week ago..and was planning to attend regional meetings and get on with the business of the Auxiliary as she signed on for another year as President. Her tenure as Volunteer Co-ordinator for the South Shore District Health Authority endeared her to many as she encouraged them in their volunteers duties in the three hospitals under her charge. to read reference to her life as a student nurse in Halifax is a side of her life we did not know...one can only imagine the fun she contributed to the residence, to her hospital duties and to the after hours parties that inevitably took place... Joan was admired and appreciated by those with whom she had contact in later years in Lunenburg. out sympathy to her family and close friends who are adjusting to a great loss. sincerely SUE & TED KELLY

Condolence: I was so sorry to learn of Joan's passing. I was in Lunenburg a week or so ago and on my way home travelling on a smaller road I passed Joan coming towards me. We only saw each other for a few seconds but I was happy to see her. She was a lovely woman and we always had nice conversations whenever we met at the hospital or out and around. I am sure it is a sad time for the family and such a shock. I want to extend my deepest sympathy to each of you. My thoughts are with you at this time.

Condolence: Joan was a friend and classmate from the VG Hospital School of Nursing. She was our class Life President. There are so many stories we, her classmates, could tell to illustrate the phenomenal person she was. From the many family dinners at her parents home, to the drives to Sunnyside for Chicken burgers, the visits to her various Aunts & Uncles' homes, swims in the pools, to the stories she had after a shift, the many laughs we had in her room as well as an always ready shoulder to cry on.I talked to her every week over the last few years and will miss her terribly. My sympathy to Mark & Marisa ; Ken& Tina & families, you brought her so much joy. Phyllis Glenn
