It is with great sadness that the family of Harold George Zinck, 77, of Crouse’s Settlement announces his passing on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at home.

Born in Crouse’s Settlement, he was a son of the late Earling and Mae (Weagle) Zinck.

Harold began his working life with Everett Sarty in Rhodes Corner, then with National Sea in Riverport for a short time. Most of his working life however was with the Public Works Department of the Town of Lunenburg. Harold was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf and Blue Jay fan, as well as a past player in the old-timer’s hockey league. He loved farming and raising chickens and pigs as well as sharing the many vegetables he would grow in his garden.

Harold is survived by daughters, Judy (Nick) vonWahl, Greenfield, Gayle Hannam (Kevin Croft), Waterloo, grandchildren, Shelby, Lukas, Nathan, Terry and Ashley, sisters, Elva Conrad, First South; Marguerite (Gordon) Baker, Centre, Doris (Geoffrey) Zinck, First South; brother, Herbert (Geraldine) Centre. He will also be missed by the daughters of his heart, Pam Comeau and Bev Martell, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters, Ruth, Eva and Barbara; brothers, Robert, Walton and a son in infancy.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Harold with his family during visitation on Sunday from 7-9 pm at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. #3 Lunenburg and where a funeral service to celebrate Harold’s life will be held Monday, August 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm, Rev. Paul Jensen officiating. Interment will be in Middle LaHave Cemetery, Middle LaHave.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lunenburg County Home Care or the Dayspring Fire Department.
