Obituary for George Harvey Wilson

George Harvey Wilson
George Wilson, 61, of Bayport died peacefully on December 4, surrounded by the people he loved.

He will be missed by his wife Janeen, children Jennifer Wilson and Alexander Piitz, Justin and Ashleigh Wilson, grandson Colton and sister Danielle Wilson and Dave Hyson.

He was born November 15, 1956, in Rimouski, Quebec, the son of Stanley and Catherine Wilson. A brother to Alfred (2014), June (2008) and Danielle, he was a “born and bred” Montreal Canadiens fan who loved to spend time in the woods, repairing his tractor and sitting on his swing looking out over Bayport harbour.

He was active in the community, volunteering as a coach and president with the Lunenburg Minor Hockey Association, as a commissioner of the Riverport Fire Department, on the board of the Bayport cemetery and was an active member of St. John’s United Church of Middle LaHave.

His family thanks George and Peggy Boudreau for their constant and unwavering support over the past three years.

In lieu of flowers his family asks that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Society of Canada.

A celebration of life will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. All attending the service are invited to wear purple in support of the Pancreatic Cancer Canada Foundation.
