It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Ritchie announces her passing on Sunday April 21, 2018, quietly in her sleep, at Ryan Hall, Bridgewater, NS after battling Alzheimers.

Ruth was born in London, England May 16, 1926 to parents, George Groombridge and Violet Webb.

She married Roderick Ritchie in England July 9,1949. They immigrated to Lunenburg, NS in 1964 with two young children, Alexander and Kathryn. Rod and Ruth were married for almost 65 years before Rod passed away in April 2014.

Ruth was a fixture around Lunenburg working at the old post office for many years, greeting customers with a smile and her British accent which never really went away.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband Rod and her sisters Joyce and Connie.

She is survived by her sister Betty, son Alex Ritchie (Peggy), grandchildren Kristin, Meagan, Sarah and Brandon, great-grandchildren Amelia and Penny, daughter Kathryn Josenhans (Andreas), grandchildren Jessica and Sophia.
