Obituary for Alexander Lee Hirtle

Alexander Lee Hirtle
It is with great sadness the family of Alexander Lee Hirtle, of Feltzen South NS, announce his sudden passing on May 17th 2018, at home.

Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of Robin and Lenore (Snyder) Hirtle of Lapland.

There wasn’t anything Alex couldn’t fix if he put his mind to it. Alex spent all his spare time looking for ways to help anyone in need especially his father in law Stuart.

Alex was strong willed and very protective of his family. He worked hard to provide for his family and loved them with his whole heart. His children and wife were truly his pride and joy.

Alex had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed having some drinks and relaxing with his friends. Alex worked in various jobs throughout his short life and his dream was to someday own his own long haul trucking company. Before Alex passed away he was employed as a deckhand on the Atlantic Destiny of Riverport NS and found a love for the sea.

Alex will be greatly missed by his wife, Brittany and children, Logan, Alayah, Haylee, and Hayden. He is also survived by his sister Bethann of Bridgewater; niece and nephew Owen and Amelia, grandmother Dorthy (George James), Oakhill; parents-in-law Stuart (Michelle) Gillespie, Rose Bay ; brother-in-law Devin (Katie Crowell) Gillespie, Riverport: nieces and nephews Elizabeth, Noah, and Kylah as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends, and shipmates.

He was predeceased by a son in infancy as well as grandparents Carrol and Marie Snyder, Frank Hirtle and cousin Bryce who Alex absolutely adored.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg, and from where a private memorial service to celebrate Alex’s life will be held. Gary Carey officiating. Reception to follow for anyone who wishes on Wednesday at 1:30 P.M., at 34 Fish Peddler Rd. Rose Bay.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the trust fund for Logan, Alayah, Haylee and Hayden, in care of Michelle Gillespie would be appreciated by the family
