Obituary for Jamie Lee Bishop

Jamie Lee Bishop
It is with great sadness that the family of Jamie Lee Bishop, 21, of Eastern Passage and formerly of Tanner’s Settlement, announces his passing on Monday, June 18, 2018, at the Dartmouth General Hospital.

Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of Kirk and Janet (Knox) Bishop of Tanner’s Settlement.

After graduating from Parkview Education Centre in Bridgewater, Jamie began working with the blueberry farm in Centre. Before long, he began his seagoing career with Clearwater, fishing and making enduring friendships on the Amanda’s Pride, Atlantic Preserver, Fundy Leader and the Atlantic Protector, after which he transferred to Comeau Seafood Ltd. sailing out of Yarmouth on the Lady Comeau.

When he wasn’t fishing, he always found time to enjoy time spent with friends and family four-wheeling and motor biking. He loved cars and his animals and will always be remembered as a loyal friend who loved his family.

Besides his parents, Kirk and Janet, Jamie is survived by his brothers, Kirk John (Pam), Back Centre; Jason, Jordon Falls; paternal grandmother, Violet Bishop, Bridgewater; maternal grandparents, Warren and Marie Knox, Hebron; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, John Bishop and aunt, Laura Lee.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg. A memorial service to celebrate Jamie’s life will be held 2:00 pm on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater. Rev. Simon Davies, officiating. Interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter, Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater or to any other charity.
