Obituary for Karen Lynn Wood

It is with great sadness that the family of Karen Lynn Wood, 58, of Bridgewater and formerly of Kinlock, PEI, announces her passing on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Charlottetown, PEI, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Clarke) Wood.

Karen lived in Ontario at the age of 18 and in Alberta from 1980 – 1988, returning to PEI before moving to reside to Nova Scotia in 1991.

No matter wherever Karen resided she was always an Islander at heart.

Karen is survived by her sons, James (Dawn Wentzell) Cheverie, St. Paul, AB; Jeff (Jill Coolen) Cheverie, Hammonds Plains; Jason Cheverie, Halifax; grammie to her grandchildren, Isabella, Allison and William; sister, Mary Ellen (Fred) McInnis, Cherry Valley, PEI; brother, Frank (Cheryl) Wood, Kinlock, PEI; and sister-in-law Clair, PEI .and beloved Uncle Frank (Staffy) Clarke, ON.


Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Rev. Margaret Wood and Pauline and brother, William, brother-in-law Wray.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. A graveside committal service for Karen will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Dayspring Cemetery, Dayspring.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bridgewater, St. Vincent de Paul, or to Salvation Army.
