Obituary for Wade Michael Tanner

Wade Michael Tanner, 65

It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Wade Michael Tanner on Sunday, September 16th at his home in Blue Rocks from Atherosclerotic Coronary Artery Disease at the age of 65.

In his earlier years, Dad worked for Riverport Seafoods and National Sea Products as 1st mate on the W.R Ritcey as well as many other fishing vessels. During this time he obtained his Master Mariners ticket and was able to navigate the open waters like a pro. Over the years he continued sailing on a variety of fishing boats, doing whatever job he held with his top-notch expertise. More recently he became the "handyman" of Blue Rocks, always lending a helping hand to everyone he knew. Doing it all with a smile on his face and never expecting anything in return. Always friendly and willing to stop to chat with whomever he'd meet during his daily walks. He was a very kindhearted man, grateful for the simple things in life.

Dad will be sadly missed by his children; Shauna (Darren) Upper Lahave, Selina "Nini" (Wade) Chester Grant and Scott (Nicole) Calgary, Alberta. Grandchildren; Devyn, Hannah, Matthew, Maddison, Samuel, Noah, Dannika, Landon, and William. He is also survived by his brother; Kevin (Linda) Midville Branch and brother-in-law, Bryon Morash, Lunenburg. Several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; Morton and Phyliss (Frittenburg) Tanner. Sisters, Carolyn Anderson, Linda Morash; brother, Gary Tanner, and brother-in-law, James Anderson.

Dad will be fondly remembered for his kindness and funny laugh, by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

"A man's character shall not be defined by his misfortune nor his fame, rather by his passion for life and generous heart." - Selina Tanner
