It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn Annie Knickle, 86, of Mahone Bay and formerly of Centre, announces her passing on Sunday, October 7, 2018 in Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay.

Born in First South, she was a daughter of the late Willis and Annie (Levy) Dares.

In her younger years, Evelyn worked for fifteen years with National Sea. She was an outgoing person who enjoyed a good card game as well as an evening out dancing. Evelyn had a warm, friendly nature and always looked forward to time spent with family and friends.

Evelyn is survived by daughter, Paulette (Michael) Conrad, Rhodes Corner; step-daughter, Sharon (Philip) Slauenwhite, Lunenburg; grandchildren, Heather, Dawn, Shawn, Stacey; great-grandchildren, Mikaela, Simon, Oliver, Nathan, Ethan, Autumn, Summer, Alexander; sisters, Barbara (Robert) Mossman, Centre, Rosalie (Michael) Touesnard, Centre, Sylvia Locher, Chatham, ON; brother, David (Brenda) Dares, Centre, sister-in-law, Marilyn Dares, Mahone Bay as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Donald Stewart Falkenham, second husband, Rayburn William Gordon Knickle, and step-sons, Dwight and Michael and brother, Rayburn Dares.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. #3, Lunenburg and from where a memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Rick Pryce officiating. Interment to follow in Sunny Valley Cemetery, Centre.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the IWK Grace Health Centre Foundation or the Children’s Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
