It is with sadness that the family of Basil Francis Walsh, First South, announce his passing at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on Thursday, November 29 in his 68th year.

Basil worked a short time in a fish plant in NL, and then made his way to Lunenburg, where he went scallop fishing until his retirement due to health reasons.

Basil had a great passion for the sea and for nature. He loved to sit in his chair, watching the birds at the feeder and the flowers grow. Also, he enjoyed his daily drives looking at deer.

Basil had a great love for his children, step-children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn; sons, Peter (Lisa), Jamie; daughters, Wendy (Ed), Michelle (Ted), Stephanie (Todd); grandchildren, Dominique, Melissa (Chris), Matthew, Crystal (Jonathan), Colton (Jeff), Dylan, Tristan and Ocean. His Newfoundland family, sisters, Blanche (Brian) Salney, Malvina (Barry) Salney, Joyce (Tony) Strang, Judy (Clayton) Pike, Mary Chafe; brothers, Barie, Patrick (Chrissy) and Peter (Elizabeth). Basil will also be missed by goddaughter, Tammy Fry; special friends, Colette Lillis, Earl Mersey and James Cassidy, Ginger and Robert Driscoll.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg and from where a memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 4 from 7-9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the South Shore Regional Hospital. Bridgewater, would be appreciated by the family.

Thank you to all the angels at South Shore Regional Hospital for looking after Basil very well. Dr. Robertson and all the nurses, you are the best. Gratefully yours, Carolyn Walsh and Family.
