Obituary for Hilda Albertha Wamboldt

It is with great sadness that the family of Hilda Albertha Wamboldt, 88, of Garden Lots, announces her passing on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Lunenburg, Hilda was the daughter of the late Howard and Pearl (Tanner) Tanner.

Hilda started her earlier working career on the soda counter of Kinley’s Drugstore and then she worked for many years at National Sea Products.

She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg. Hilda enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.

She is survived by daughters, Janet (Kent Morash), Lower Sackville, Peggy (Darrell Richards) of Rhodes Corner, Linda (Alan MacKay), Shelburne, grandchildren, Kirk (Germaine), Kristopher (Cindy), Tyler, Jessica (Jordan) and Justin (Allie); great- grandchildren, Kristopher, Gerald, Sarah and Mary Catherine, Gavin and Haley; sisters, Katherine DeMone, Middleton, and Gladys Biermann, New Jersey and many nieces and nephews.

Hilda was predeceased by her husband, Robert Charles Wamboldt, sisters, Lucille and Margaret, brothers, Maxwell and Morton and special niece, Carolyn MacLean.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Hilda with her family during visitation at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and where a memorial service to celebrate Hilda’s life will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m.; Rev. Rick Pryce, officiating. Interment will be in Garden Lots Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
