Obituary for Elwood "Robert" Peel

It is with great sadness that the family of Elwood “Robert” Peel, 62, of Fauxburg, announces his passing, on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at home.

Born in Barrie Ontario, he was the son of Elsie (Pinkney) Herman of Bridgewater and the late Fred Peel.

Robert worked all of his working life as a long haul truck driver and the last many years with Dexter Construction out of Halifax. He was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay. In his earlier years he coached many young folk with St. James Jets and Minor Hockey.

Robert enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Many will remember him as a guy that just enjoyed a good yarn with friends.

Besides his mother, Elsie, Robert is survived by his wife, Alison, daughters, Gillian (Logan) of Calgary, AB, Delaynee of Fauxburg, sons, Ashton (Shay) Fauxburg, Keegan (Racheal) Mahone Bay, Connor, Fauxburg, brother, Harvey (Leona) of British Columbia, mother-in-law, Jean Knickle, Fauxburg, grandchildren, Hudson, Brady, Kingston, Layla, Brooklynn and Tyler.

He was predeceased by his father, Fred, his beloved sisters, Susan and Debbie and father-in-law, Hugh Knickle

Friends are invited to share their memories of Robert with his family during visitation on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #. 3, Lunenburg.
