Obituary for Kenneth "Allen" Demone

Kenneth “Allen” Demone, 88, formerly of Upper Lahave, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Cook Villa, Cookville.

Born in Rhodes Corner, he was the only child of the late Kenneth Allen Demone and Ellen Louise Demone (Legay).

Allen had a lengthy career as the owner operator of Petro Canada/Fina service station on Lahave street in Bridgewater where he won many awards for outstanding customer service. In early years he was active in his community church and fire department. Allen enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid walker. He loved animals and had a fondness for the Chihuahua dogs that were a big part of his life.


Allen is survived by his special family; Mary Rowlands, Rosemary (Jake) Smith, Valerie Rowlands, Alan (Donna) Rowlands, Rod (Leslie) Rowlands and “Kelly” the chihuahua.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Ruth Marguerite Demone (Oxner).

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg. In keeping with Allen’s wishes cremation has taken place with a private interment at a later date in Silver’s Cemetery, Rhodes Corner.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the S.H.A.I.D Tree Animal Shelter or Silver’s Cemetery, Rhodes Corner.
