Obituary for Cheryl Alvina Locke (Boucher)

It is with great sadness that the family of Cheryl Alvina Locke, 67, of Mahone Bay and formerly of Feltzen South, announce her passing on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.

Born in Kentville, NS, she was a daughter of the late Lionel and Nina (Cook) Boucher.

Cheryl had a big heart and loved working with seniors at Harbour View Haven. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Four-wheeler trips, BBQs and a good kitchen party were among her favorite things. Cheryl was an avid crocheter and made countless blankets and other handmade gifts for family and those in need. She had a love for animals and doted on them as if they were her babies. Her bright smile and contagious laugh made it impossible to not have fun when she was near. Her wicked sense of humour, coupled with her unwavering compassion for others will live on in the lives she’s touched.

She is survived by her husband George; son, Mark (Pam) Corkum, Ottawa; step-daughters, Denise Mason, Calgary, Sandra Locke, Spokane WA; step-son, Daniel Locke, Maders Cove; grandson, Alex; step-grandchildren, Amy Martin, Katie Crowell, Craig Arsenault, Josie Locke, Danica Locke, Sophie Pearson; step-great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Noah, Kylah, Brooklyn, Lexi, Jayce, Sam, Calvin, Evie, Ian, Lainey, Oran and Rowland; two sisters; two brothers; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, and from where an open house for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 7 – 9 p.m. Interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations made to the Dr. Art Patterson Centre, Lunenburg, would be appreciated by the family.
