Obituary for Annette Marie Conrad

It is with great sadness that the family of Annette Marie Conrad, 62, of Lunenburg, announce her passing on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Lunenburg, Annette was the daughter of Capt. Vernon Conrad of Lunenburg and the late Frances (MacDonald) Conrad.

Annette started her working career in the Town of Lunenburg as receptionist and in the offices at the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital and then went on to work at the Dominion Store and Lunenburg Save Easy. Over the years she was faithful member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian where she was actively involved in the Youth Group, Fund Raising Committees, Board of Managers and Session, Superintendent and taught Sunday School for many years.

Actively involved in the Girl Guide Movement, Annette was a Girl Guide Leader, involved with Public relations for the Girl Guides and Brownie Leader.

In later years as Annette dealt with her health issues she was most happy spending time at home with her dad whom she loved dearly and enjoying the company of her cherished dogs. She will be deeply missed by so many.

Besides her father, Capt. Vernon Conrad, Annette is survived by brothers, Michael (Ann Marie) Conrad, Bridgewater and Wayne (Elaine) Conrad, Blue Rocks, nieces, Michelle (Paul), Christa (Dwayne) and nephews, Mark (Kristen) and Scott (Donna), great nieces and nephews, Kayden, Gavin, Riley, Justin, Anna and Sarah.

She was predeceased by her mother, Frances, infant sibling and a great niece, Kaley Rose. .

Friends are invited to share their memories of Annette with her family during visitation on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg and where a service to celebrate Annette’s life will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m.; Marion Mawhinney, officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
