Obituary for Marie Angeline Croft
It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Angeline Croft, 82 of First Peninsula, announces her passing on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Stonehurst, Marie was the daughter of Warren and Margaret (Tanner) Selig.
In her earlier years, Marie worked at National Sea Products, Lunenburg and after her daughter Peggy was born chose to stay home to look after her family. Marie was a quiet lady who enjoyed the simple pleasure of life and her home and family were most important to her. In her earlier years she enjoyed helping Gelvin in the garden and found great enjoyment in watching from her window the activities of First Peninsula and the beauty that nature unfolded for her.
She was a member of Central United Church, Lunenburg.
Marie is survived by her loving daughter, Peggy Croft of First Peninsula, a niece and two nephews.
Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by husband, Gelvin and brothers, Robert and Alvin.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Marie with her family on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg and from where a service to celebrate Marie’s life will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Grace Caines-Corkum, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Foundation of Canada, the Kidney Foundation of Canada or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
