Obituary for Dawson Mitchell Joshua Knickle

The family of Dawson Mitchell Joshua Knickle, 90, of Lunenburg announces his peaceful passing on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Shoreham Village Nursing Home, Chester.

Born in Blue Rocks, he was the son of the late J. J. Barnabas and L. R. Luzette (Greek) Knickle.

In his earlier years, Dawson worked for Adams and Knickle Ltd. and then went on to work for 38 years with the Lunenburg Foundry and Engineering and was custodian of Canada Trust, Lunenburg for many years.

Dawson enjoyed tinkering in his basement, carpentry, gardening and sharing time with family.

He was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Chapel and the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Dawson is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eldora (Joudrey) , son, Michael Knickle (Dawn Pritchard) of Shelburne; daughter, Trena Knickle, Lunenburg, grandchildren, Andrew Knickle, of St. John's, NF and Charlene Knickle, Halifax and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Dawson was predeceased by his sisters, Evangeline Conrad, Thelma Bezanson and Marjorie Romkey, daughter-in-law, Sandra Knickle.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Dawson with his family during visitation on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Chapel, Centre, Rev. Douglas Porter, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Faith Baptist Chapel, Shoreham Village Nursing Home, Fishermen%u2019s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg Fire Department or to a charity of your choice.
