Obituary for Pamela Kent

Kent, Pamela (Willis), 89 passed away at the South Shore Regional Hospital on June 6, 2019.

Born in London, England on April 13, 1930 Pamela grew up in Newcastle-upon-Tyne while spending the war years in Hexham. She attained her medical degree at Durham University where she met her future husband, Eric Trevor Kent. They emigrated to Canada and were married in Winnipeg in 1958. The family moved to Lunenburg in 1969 and later she resided at Prince’s Inlet.

Pamela was involved with many community organisations including the Lunenburg and District Music Festival, Lunenburg Art Gallery, Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital Auxillary, Laubach Literacy Foundation, and the Ladies’s Guild of St John’s Anglican Church.

Pamela is survived by her daughters Judith (Paul) Riddoch, Mader’s Cove, Angela Kent, Cairns Australia, daughter-in-law Donna (Peter) Kent, Rothesay NB, former daughter-in-law Terry Haynes, Kingston Ont, niece Pamela Margaret Willis, Victoria BC, her cherished grandchildren Dominic, Alexandre, Danielle, Haynes, Daron (Kenneth) and Chris as well as great-grandchildren Jade, Max and Rosie.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dr Trevor Kent, her brother George Willis and her beloved sons Peter and Ian.

May Pamela be remembered for her quiet strength and gentle grace.

A private family service will be held on June 14 at St John’s Anglican Church followed by internment at the Columbarium at All Saints Cathedral, Halifax.
