Obituary for Basil Harold Demmings
It is with great sadness that the family of Basil Harold Demmings, 76, of Bridgewater and formerly of Feltzen South, announces his passing on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Ellershouse, he was the son of the late Harold and Printhie (Williams) Demmings.
Basil worked all of his working career in the construction and trucking industry in Halifax and in 1998 he and his wife Sharon moved to retire to Feltzen South where he took great pride in his property and was jack of all trades. In his spare times he enjoyed the outdoors where he loved hunting and fishing.
In his recent years of declining health, Basil and Sharon decided to move and reside in Bridgewater.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, special chosen family, Lisa, Larry and Kelsey Risser of Lower Rose Bay, sister, Rae (Frank) Davis, Beaverbank; sister-in-law, Dorothy Demmings and special sister-in-law, Sheila Allen, Beaverbank and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Gerald.
Friends and family are invited to a gathering at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or to a charity of your choice.
