Obituary for Calvin Marshall Mulock

It is with great sadness that the family of Calvin Marshall Mulock, 86 of Rhodes Corner, announces his passing on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany.

Born in Upper LaHave, Calvin was the son of the late Harris and Gladys (Naugler-Demone) Mulock.

Calvin started his working career with his uncle, building wharfs for Irving Oil and then went on to a lifetime career in Management with Good Year/GCR Tire Company and managed the retreading plant retiring in 1989.

His life was an active one and he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, family came first and he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who dedicated and supported his family in any way he could. Calvin could always be found at home or at the camp on the lake, hunting, fishing, spending time with his cherished grandsons whether it was building a swimming pool or just having a great meal and conversation.

Active within his community, he was one of the founding members of the Dayspring and District Fire Department, a Trustee of the Silver-Mulock Cemetery and a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Rhodes Corner.

He enjoyed his retirement with his wife Shirley, who in earlier years they travelled to Florida, took in many auctions, daily drives and cherished the time spent with each other. Shirley’s devotion to Calvin was a true love story as her daily visits to the nursing home brought them great joy as they shared their 65 years of life together.

Calvin is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, daughter, Paulette (Barry Corkum) Rhodes Corner, grandchildren, Nicholas (Elizabeth) and Stephen (Celeste); half-sister, Wendy (Roger) Doyle, Waverley.

He was predeceased by his son, William Calvin “Billy” in August 3, 2017.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, where a service to celebrate Calvin’s life will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Rev.
