Obituary for Darryll Wayne Tanner

It is with great sadness that the family of Darryll Wayne “Jed” Tanner, 74 of Stonehurst announces his passing on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Wallace and Calpernia “Callie” (Whynacht) Tanner.

Darryll started his seagoing career at the early age of 9 and continued inshore fishing all of his working life. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending time at home with family and friends and being in the outdoors enjoying deer and duck hunting.

Darryll was a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Church and supported the work of the church in any way he could. He was a friend to many and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Darryll is survived by his wife, Christine; sister, Kathleen (Melbourne) Langille, Lunenburg and several nieces and nephews and Christine’s extended family.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Edith, Jean and Arlene and brothers, Howard “Buddie” and David.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Darryll with his family during visitation on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. Funeral Service to celebrate Darryll’s life will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church, Blue Rocks. Interment will be in the Lower Blue Rocks Cemetery.
