Obituary for Herbert "Herbie" V. Zinck

It is with great sadness and joy that the family Herbert Zinck, 94, of Centre, announces his passing on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg.

Born in Crouse’s Settlement, Herbie was a son of the late Earling and Mae (Weagle) Zinck.

Herbie worked at National Sea Products (Highliner Foods) 33 years and upon retirement, his many hobbies became his full time job, from working in the woods and around his property, hunting, fishing, harvesting Chritmas trees, making wreaths, making solomon gundy, smoking fish and helping harvesting turkeys. Herbie was a Director of the Lunenburg County Wildlife Association, also a member of the Lunenburg Rod and Gun Club.

He was a faithful member of First South United Church where he sang in the church choir, as well as an honorary Elder and supported the work of the church in any way he could.

Herbie’s many activities brought him life long friends that he cherished. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Herbie is survived by his wife of 64 years Geraldine Margaret (Dolimount), daughters, Nancy Zinck of Bridgewater and Wendy Zinck (Andrew Crawshaw) of Bridgewater, sisters, Elva Conrad, First South and Marguerite (Gordon) Baker, Centre, special niece Deborah Wentzell,
