Obituary for Mary Marguerite Frittenburg

Frittenburg, Mary Marguerite (Iversen) passed away peacefully June 26th, 2020, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Lunenburg, January 12th, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Captain P. Kenneth Iversen and Rosa (Clark) Iversen.

She graduated from L. B. McLaughlin Business School and worked for many years at the Lunenburg Foundry and Engineering Ltd. Mary was involved in the Girl Guide movement and held various positions, District Commissioner, Provincial Secretary, Local Association and Trefoil Guild. She was involved with St. John’s Anglican, Lunenburg, where she was a Sunday School teacher, on the Parish Council, member of St. John’s Ladies Guild, on the executive of Anglican Church Women. In her earlier years she was a member of Lunenburg Jaycettes, Lunenburg Figure Skating Club. In her later years she volunteered with the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in the Gift Shop. Mary loved baking and spending time with family, her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter; Donna Croft, Bridgewater; son Andrew (Jan) (former daughter in-law Laura), Tennessee; grandchildren, Steven Croft (Nadene), Timberlea, Leah Zinck (Patrick), Bridgewater, Keith Frittenburg, Kingston; great-grandchildren Xander, Maxwell, Violet; cousins, Marion Westhaver (Richard), Mississauga ON, Judith MacSween (Glen), Markham ON; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Keith; sister, Christine Crouse (Basil); brother, Donald Iversen (Betty).

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg and from where a private memorial service will be held on Thursday July 2, 2020. Interment to follow in Hillcrest cemetery, Lunenburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations made to St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg, would be appreciated by the family.
