Obituary for Frank John Nosan
NOSAN, FRANK J.
Frank passed away peacefully in the early morning of Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the age of 73 at South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.
Beloved husband of 43 years to Nancy (nee Turnbull) and dedicated father of Josh (Lisa Zygowski).
Born in Belgium and immigrating with his family to Canada in 1952 and eventually settling in Alberta making East Coulee, Canmore and Calgary home over the years. Frank made the move to Ontario as a teenager to Port Dover and lived with his Aunt, Uncle and cousin Paula Chaisson (Proost) and eventually called Oakville, Ontario home. Over the years, Frank and Nancy have called Hamilton/Burlington/Ancaster/Brechin, Ontario and most recently Lunenburg, Nova Scotia (2016) home.
Frank was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Germaine Nosan (nee Van Elverdinghe), brother Ivan, (Denise) as well as brothers-in law Fred Olson and Ben Kosidowski.
Frank is survived by his sisters Sonia Jones (Denis), Francine Olson (Fred), and Yvette Kosidowski (Ben).
Frank was an active member of the Classical Martial Arts Centre in Burlington, Ontario and retired from Mississauga Hydro (Alectra Utilities) after 35 years of service. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the thoughtful, compassionate caregivers and hospital staff in both Ontario and Nova Scotia for their attentive care over more than 7 years.
Frank is now resting at Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home in Lunenburg. In lieu of flowers, donations will be greatly appreciated to Orillia Memorial Hospital in Ontario, South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater Nova Scotia, and the March of Dimes Canada After Stroke Program through www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca.
A virtual ‘Celebration of Life’ will be announced at a later date. Frank will be laid to rest on September 3, 2020 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lunenburg, followed by a private, graveside service.
