It is with great sadness that the family of Carolyn Silver, 71, of Bridgewater, announces her passing on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Lunenburg, Carolyn was a daughter of the late Harry and Marie (Nauss) Silver.

Carolyn began her working career as a hairdresser in Lunenburg, then as a tax consultant with H& R Block. She then went on to have her own business for forty years as a tax consultant. Not having children of her own she was especially fond of her two nephews and five great-nieces.

Carolyn is survived by her sister Shirley (Robert) Black, Lunenburg; nephews, Stephen (Pam) Black, Hammonds Plains, Richard Black, Lunenburg; great-nieces Robyn, Samantha, Rachel, Chloe and Meredith.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg. In keeping with Carolyn’s wishes a private family graveside service was held on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg. Rev. Rick Pryce officiated.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations made to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

So sorry to hear of Carolyn's passing. Condolences to all of her family. I remember the times
I spent at your home when we were just children and the crazy things we use to do.

Although not acknowledged in the obituary, Carolyn E. Silver was my biological mother. If you knew her well you knew she was very knowledgeable; she spent endless hours on the Net gaining information about anything she was passionate about. She loved cats, coffee, cigarettes, surfing the net, shopping on-line, keeping things organized, being a DIY handywoman, and talking for hours on the phone and in person. She loved her work as an income tax consultant and if she was doing your taxes rest assured they would be done to perfection.
Carolyn had big dreams, one was to meet her biological daughter and for 16+ years we were in each other’s lives on a weekly basis and after her diagnoses that contact was often daily. Her cancer was devastating to both of us and, unfortunately, fate ended our relationship too soon. Mom, I know life and close relationships were difficult for you, however, you knew I loved you dearly and I know you loved me too. Sorry, but if I had known I would have been there for when you needed me most. I trust you are finally at peace, no more pain and suffering.

With all my Love, Shelley

Sorry to hear of the passing of cousin Carolyn. We only saw each other occasionally in later years, but many fond memories of being summer neighbours at the cottage. Sincere condolences to the family. Sharon Nauss-Hughes

Carolyn was a trusted adviser and kind soul who knew how to translate the mysteries of accounting to two writers. We always appreciated her friendliness and integrity. Our condolences to all of her family.
