Obituary for Brenda Marguerite Dares (Risser)

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Brenda Marguerite Dares, 79, of Back Centre on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at home, with her husband David by her side.

Born in Kingsburg, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Charlotte (Keizer) Risser.

Brenda was very proud of her family and loved to bake, always ensuring that everyone had plenty of baked goods, jams, pickles and anything else they may need. Her freezer was always full of treats. She also enjoyed spending time in her gardens and getting her home ready for Christmas, alongside her husband, David.

She is survived by her husband David; daughters, Carolyn Whynot, Bridgewater, Wanda (Eddie Huskins) Hull, Pleasantville, Michelle (Darren) Risser, Weymouth; sons, David “Bub” (Cindy) Risser, St. John’s, NB, Wayne (Tina) Risser, Oakhill; step-daughter, Wendy (Ron Nes) Dares, Ottawa; step-son, Derrick (Sheila) Dares, Blockhouse; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene (Leo Collins) Crouse, Sydney; sister-in-law, Cathy Risser, Bridgewater as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery, Kingsburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
