Obituary for Valda Marie Tanner
Tanner, Valda Marie - Mahone Bay
On September 8th, with loving family at her side, Valda Marie Tanner (Williams-Price) passed away peacefully at the age of 91.
Valda was born November 20, 1930 in Lockeport, NS, the daughter of Hastings and Jessie Williams.
Some of her most joyous times were being with family and friends, sharing a cup of tea and a sweet, telling stories and playing games with the children. Her faith as a Jehovah’s Witness remained strong throughout her lifetime and brought her much love and joy. In her younger years she enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and parts of the US. She would reflect fondly on those memories and her childhood memories with her 11 siblings.
She is survived by her daughter Lori Outerbridge (John), Pleasantville and son Ray Price (Pat), Lunenburg, step-son Linden Tanner (Leah), Grafton, NS, sister Linda Simpson, Summerside, PEI, grand-children Christopher, Melodie, Dawn, Skylar, Taylor, Mitchell and great-grandchildren Soleil, Liam, Benjamin and Porter.
She was predeceased by first husband Ronald Price, and second husband Byron Tanner, parents Hastings and Jessie Williams, brothers Vinal, Alonzo (Lonnie), Wendell, Maynard, Neil, Bruce, Brian, Merrill and sisters Susanna (June), Jessie (Jake)and and step-daughter Jeaneane Tanner.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, where a service to celebrate Valda’s life will be held, Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at a later date at Lockeport Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Valda’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.
