MORASH, Marlene Phyllis
MORASH, Marlene Phyllis â€" 71, passed away peacefully at her son’s home in Halifax, after a brief illness, on Monday, June 23, 2008. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, October 28, 1936, she was the daughter of Phyllis Morash-Taylor, Kanata, Ontario and the late Cyril Morash. After high school Marlene graduated from Miss Murphy’s Business College and worked for some time at Bell and Grant Insurance as a policy writer. She then spent many years as a wife, mother and homemaker, during which time she gave birth to and raised three fine children and taught Sunday school at Christ Church, Dartmouth. Later in life she worked as a Nanny and in Retail Sales. Marlene loved music, playing the piano and keyboard. Marlene was gifted in arts and crafts and the homes of her family are adorned with examples of her work. Marlene loved spending time in quiet peaceful surroundings, getting together with family, and had a unique sense of humor. Marlene passed away trusting in God’s love and mercy. She showed great courage in dealing with this chapter of her life. Marlene is survived by her long time companion Norman Stacey; sons, Michael Williams, Halifax; Stephen Williams, Dartmouth; daughter Cheryl Williams (Scott Kay), Scotch Village; grandchildren, Danielle, Devon, Reese and Shantell; brothers, Peter (Stella), Terry (Carol) and Don (Elaine) Morash, of Dartmouth; several nephews, one niece, and numerous cousins; and her pet Cocker Spaniel, Echo. By request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A family committal service and a memorial reception will be held at a later date.
