Catherine MacKenzie
In the mid-1960s, I had the very great fortune to take a course from Dr. Beck. He was a magnificent teacher, someone who could make even the study of the distribution of Parliamentary constituencies profoundly exciting. He was also an exceptionally kind, approachable professor. I have never forgotten him and I pass on my condolences to his family and friends who must miss this gentle man greatly.
