Obituary for Brian S. Tanner

Brian S.   Tanner
It is with great sadness the family of Brian S. Tanner, of Lunenburg announces his passing on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the QE11 Health Sciences Centre, Halifax.

Born in Lunenburg, on March 8, 1951, Brian is the son of Geraldine (Miller) Tanner, Lunenburg and the late F. Solomon Tanner.

After graduating from Lunenburg High School, Brian went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from NSCAD. Later he received his Fellowship Diploma from the Canadian Gemological Association. He was a self-employed goldsmith for 34 years. Always passionate about his work, he was highly respected for his talent and expertise in designing, creating, repairing and appraising jewellery. He will be greatly missed by his many clients. Other than his work, he enjoyed music, sports cars and cooking.

Besides his mother, he is survived by Gladys his wife and best friend for 40 years and his two daughters, Nicole and Angela who he loved dearly, niece, Dien (Charles) Jackson and several cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, F. Solomon Tanner and a brother, Wayne.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. At the request of the family there will be no memorial or interment service for Brian.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association, the Heart and Stroke Association of Nova Scotia, the Dr. Arthur H. Patterson Centre or a charity of your choice.
