To all of Dave's family, friends aquaintences and (x) colleagues: Please accept my sincere condolences. He was a Tutor/Lecturer while I attended Ryerson School of Interior Design in the mid 1980's.
I once sat with and chatted with Dave on the Via rail one Friday night: It was a unique experience in which it afforded me the chance to talk with him on another level other than as a student. He was looking tired and was on his way to spend the weekend at one of our other (business) lecturer Mr.Killbourn's home, in a town further up the line from Georgetown on the same route 'to get away' from the city for a break...He told me while on the train that he did not own a car and at that time Dave never drove.
He spoke with pride of his young daughter Morgyn (at the time an under five year old at the local YMCA daycare) who was present at the centre on a day while I was reviewing it as a case study for a Rye High Interior Design project...I often thought of him since - he was a cool guy, for sure! Certainly one of the most 'likeable' tutors and one of the few who chose occasionally to socialise with us outside the classroom.
A most memorable Tutor also, he was: Always candid and easy to laugh with, interesting to listen to while he told his many tales, and he had that memorable curly grin that was infectious - just as in the photo! Sad that he's gone now - he was a legend in his own time...
So sorry for your loss,
