Obituary for Vaino Kariler

Vaino  Kariler
It is with great sadness that we the family of Vaino Kariler, 89, of Lower Rose Bay, announce his passing, on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Lannamar, Estonia on March 17, 1926, he was the son of Edward and Sina Ida Kariler.

Vaino immigrated to Canada in 1949 and lived in Lower Rose Bay for the past 67 years. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Pauline, (Zinck); sons, Jaan (Heather), Lower Rose Bay; David (Robin), Ecuador; grandsons, Shaun (Melanie), Marc (Sandra), Michael (Samantha); granddaughter, Emma (Mark); great-grandsons, Wyatt and Gavin; step-grandchildren, Marlow and James Whittier.

Vaino was an inshore fisherman for most of his life and enjoyed his work. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, First South and for many years a member of the Liberal Association and Harbour View Cemetery. He was a kind and generous man – a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A friend to everyone, he will be missed by all.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy # 3, Lunenburg where friends are invited to share their memories of Vaino with his family during visitation on Friday, from 7-9 pm and where a funeral service to celebrate Vaino’s life will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm, Rev. Rick Pryce officiating. Interment will be at Harbour View Cemetery, Lower Rose Bay.

Flowers from the immediate family only. Memorial donations may be made to Harbour View Cemetery, Lower Rose Bay, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
