Barb was such a great doctor to both of my daughters and me for the many years we saw her, when I lived on the South Shore. She delivered my daughter Gloria on February 19, 1990. Our family was at her office many times, including 21 visits one winter, for ear infections- 11 times for Gloria and 9 times for Ashley.
My daughter Ashley loved Dr. Hayden. When Ashley was about 4 years old, we lived in Bridgewater and Ashley was in the living room playing with her kitchen set and high chair. She had changed her clothes into a skirt, tights and dress shoes. Ashley was then running some of my thermal fax paper through the high chair. I asked her what she was doing and she told me that she was at the Doctor's office. I asked why she had changed clothes and Ashley said, "Mom, don't you know that all doctors wear skirts". At our next appointment, I told Barb what a good role model she was for my daughters. As always, Barb was very humble about the compliment.
I also have many fond memories of her from my 17 years at Fishermen's Memorial Hospital. The world will be a sadder place with Barb's departure. She touched many lives and we will all remember her well-spent time on earth.
